Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge this week is for Things with Wings.  I've used a combination of designer paper, stickers, paper lace and bling to put together my Butterfly ATC.

Birthday Boy

A little fellow I know, Xavier, is turning 1, and this is his card.  The image is from Dustin Pike, he has some wonderful dragons.  I have coloured this cute dragon with copic and touch pens, I printed the image twice and cut the dragon out of the second print and layered him onto the card with 3d spots.  Added kiddy glitter to streamers and confetti, some bling to his hat and around the edges of the image.

Steampunk Tags

I've just finished some steampunk tags to send overseas in swaps.  I have used images from Finecrafted Designs - Full Steam Ahead which can be found here.

Also lots of chipboard and wooden elements (from Crafty Emblies) painted with metallic watercolour Paints, Distressed Inks, tags, leather and bits and pieces. Kept them really light and not too bulky so they can go as cards in the post.  Have to admit, blue is my favourite colour and I think I like the blue one best of all.
Being swapped in:

New Home Tri Fold Card

I made the template for this card myself, some time ago and have been waiting for an idea to use it. Polkadoodles challenge this week is 'New Home'.  I have used a collection of papers from Papermania, Aqua Paper Pack by Tina Higgins.  The front roof has been covered with strips of paper which I have scalloped and over layed.  Some added ribbon inside.  The characters are all from Polkadoodles Cherry Lane CD, I've used the pre-coloured images this time.  The back has been left unadorned for a hand written message.

Black and White and One other Colour

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week was a colour one.  This particular ATC is being put into a journal I am doing at Creative Passions with Tami Taylor, Got Glue, Celebrations and is going to be a part of my Anzac Page.

The ATC has a hand drawn night cityscape under a starry sky showing the Southern Cross and a dove.  My other colour is gold.  I am calling it 'Beneath the Southern Cross'  It is only simple, but hope you like it.

Inspiration to finish a project

I'm going overseas for a holiday in a few weeks, and I decided when we booked the trip, that I would bind a book to take with me as my junk/travel/art book.

I have used watercolouring paper for the pages, which I folded in half and then hand stitched together.  The album has a wrap around cover, giving me plenty of room to add things as I go, it is made from calico and lots and lots of gesso, which gave it a leathery feeling once it dried, and that did take some time.

I've used all sorts of paint, ink, pastels etc to embellish the cover, from some very old hobbytex paints
( haven't used them for about 15 years - but most were still OK, some needed thinning), through to glitter.  There are elements made of paper, chipboard, material, some die cuts, hand drawn pieces and so the list goes on. Would not have been possible without my trusty Modge Podge.

I had come to a stand still and knew it had to be finished, which I did this weekend Yeah!! thanks to these 3 challenges that got me going again.

CDAC Progressive Freebies - Hawaiin Girl (my last image for this series)

I have created this page with The Hawaiin Girl from Back to Paper and placed her in a garden of tropical blooms.

Brown Sugar Challenge No 38 - Get Well

It's time to make a Get Well project for Brown Sugar, I've used an image from Delicious Doodles called 'Echinacea' which can be found here.  I've used Copic Pens and Watercolours for the image which I printed out twice, the centres of the flowers have been sculptured into mounds and put on with 3d squares.  One set of leaves was coloured with the watercolours and placed at an angle behind the full image.  Made some Get Well strips for the top and bottom of the card, added some ribbon and a bow.  The image has a little bee on it where I have added the 3d sticker also added a little dragon fly.

April is ATCs and Fat Pages at CCCB Part 2

We are doing ATCs and Fat pages (4 x 4 ) this month at The Crafters Cafe Challenge Blog. This time I have made an ATC, with a great image from Limited Runs Digital Stamps, part of their cupcake range, I chose Dynomite Cake. These digis are in perfect proportions for making an ATC. I used the image with the explosion on the front, there is also one without it, I then printed and cut out the explosion and paper pieced it to the card, I cut of the wick and added some cord in its place, made some vellum springs and added some stars that now bounce around a bit.  Added a sentiment, think this would be great topper for a birthday card.

CDAC - Progessive Freebie Challenges

CDAC has been have the Progressive Freebie challenges for quite a long time now, I know I have been doing them for over 18 months, here is my second last image for this series.  Woodland Baby Sleeping and the Baby Shower sentiment are from Nanna Vic.I have coloured the image with Copic and Touch pens, added glitter to the flower centres and liquid pearls for the spots on the toadstools (I really would love to see a red mushroom).  Mounted on 3 different green papers, added some die cut leaves and layered flowers to finish off the card.

Lucy Sunshine has Spring Fever

Here is Flowerbed Fred, from Lucy Sunshineand he can be found here , he is having a quiet nap amongst the flowers. Coloured with Copic pens, mounted on green, yellow and orange cardstock, added flowers and a birthday ticket.

Entered into the Lucy Sunshine Challenge - Spring Fever

An ATC for Spring

This little project was an experiment and I am happy with the way it has turned out, might add some more embellishments later on, not sure.  There are a couple of things I would change in the future, make the window a bit sturdier, then more elements definitely a possibility and have a wider hinge panel, maybe a shorter window? who knows!.  But it works fine.  I have used a pre coloured image from Polkadoodles called Wesley.  The window was cut on my Ecraft after lots and lots of measuring.  The spring flowers are made from different papers, with kiddy glitter and liquid pearl centres.

This ATc is entered into the challenges at:
Fun With ATCs - Windows/Doors
Try it on Tuesday - Spring has Sprung - Have something that moves on your project.

Wesley is looking through the Window at his beautiful Spring Flowers

What could be better - Open the window and smell the flowers. Spring has Sprung

April Showers bring the Spring Flowers

I think it might be Spring in some parts of the world, in fact with so much talk about Spring and April Showers I am sure it is Spring somewhere.    I decided to grab a bunch of flower images I had from various sources, none named.  Put them together in a boot I drew, add some colour with copic and touch pens, a pinch or two of liquid pearls, a spoonful of glitter, a gem and some glossy accents to create my get well card.  If you look closely at the close up you are sure to see some raindrops on the flowers.

A Birthday Card

This cute image is from the Lacy Sunshine Store and is called Sunny, at the moment she is free on their challenge blog.  I have coloured Sunny with pencils and blended with zest, used some alcohol markers, ink, glitter and liquid pearls to give her some final touches.  She is wearing sunflowers in her hair, but I have wanted to use these flower stickers for a long time and they just seemed to fit in with my colouring.  I have added some bling, a butterfly, little flowers, ribbon and the number 4 with a sentiment to complete the card, mounted on yellow cardstock.

Anything Goes with Flowers

Anything goes with flowers is the name of the challenge at 613 Avenue Create this week.  How about some leaves and sparkly pink cardstock.  With pink flowers matching the cardstock, I used different brilliant inks to colour a piece of white card stock and stamped it with the leaves image, mounted onto some gold cardstock, then a deep green and then onto the pink.  I also stamped the leaves onto some shrink paper and acetate, which I have coloured with copics.  I then layered the leaves and then placed the flowers over and under to create a branch of pink blossom.

Paper Piecing Scene

Polkadoodles Challenge this week is Paper Piecing.  I have used a pre-coloured background and several pre-coloured elements from the Polkadoodles CD called Cherryblossom Lane to create this small card.  Having them already coloured, meant a quiet evening spent cutting and glueing.  Mounted on blue glossy card and then onto some embossed tissue paper.  Set at an angle and 3 little flowers complete the card.
