The Crafters Cafe Challenge # 39 - Anything Goes

I am definitely into making some Christmas cards with different colours this year, here is one with an image from Eureka Stampede called 'Mistletoe Couple', which you can find HERE.  Coloured in copic pens, the image also had mistletoe, but I have made some with a diecut and some pearls and a black marker.  I have off centered the different coloured cardstock, with a wavy edge down one side and across the top, I have also added thin wavy strips to hold the mistletoe and at the bottom of the card.  Coloured a silver sentiment green.

Christmas

First and foremost, I have to tell you about this delightful site I came across last week, Crafty Moments, the artist is Vince and he hand draws all his illustrations.  He shares them freely and they are some of the most delightful images.  Check out his site, you may find something that you would like to use, Crafty Moments.

The image I have used is called "Merry Xmas"

I have coloured the image with Copic Pens, added some glitter and gems to the little elf mouse and to the Lady mouse I have added some burlap patches to the image (there are drawn patches where I have placed them), Added a stick on sentiment.  I love these mice, you could be seeing more of them.

I used Kraft card for the card, cut around the top to follow the image line, mounted hard against the fold and bottom of the card, leaving a line of Kraft card showing around the top, where I have added gold glitter.

This is the 1st time I have made this album and it was a lot of fun, yes, there are some things I would do differently, but overall I was happy with it. I got the instructions out of a book "Interactive mini scrapbooks by Kathy Orta Files.  I have use Kraft card to make the pages and hinges for the album. Covered with Kaisercraft "Miss Nelly" papers and some astickers and diecuts also, lots of lace and a Kaisercraft sticker (girl on a swing), there is also an owl sticker, the album has 14 pockets for tags, photos, notes etc, some you can see in the photos, others are hidden, like secret pockets. The hinges are large enough to accept loads of bits and pieces to be placed in the pockets and lots of room for journalling.

This weeks winner will receive a $12.00 gift certificate to the Create with TLC Store

Decided to do something different this week, I have a couple of Whitman's Chocolate Boxes, yummy, used to have them regularly, before I went on my diet.  Anyway, I have always wanted to cover one of these boxes and this beautiful image seemed right.

I printed her on watercolour paper and used watercolour pencils to colour the image. I cut around the edges to bring the scrolls to the outside.  I covered the box with designer paper, with great thanks always to whoever created mod podge.  I added lace around the sides and the perimeter of the top, adhered the image and added flowers to her hat, rosebuds in the corners and a cluster of blooms in the bottom right hand corner.

Looks who's turning 1

This card has been made for a little boy who is having his birthday party next week, and we feel special as we received an invite to his party.  He is our great nephew.

No colouring of images this time, everything is paper and stickers, the little verse inside is mine.  I followed a sketch at Simon Says on Wednesday, which I have turned and then flipped, because I wanted to show the "Z" and the number 1 on the paper strips.  This little boys name is Zavier (spelt with a Z) and he is turning 1.  I used a glitter pen on one of the "Zs" and on the number 1 to highlight them.  Inside I put the verse and some little tools for his car.

White on White

Christmas card this time, I am always in awe of people who have to match paints, like car repairers, painters etc, my son is a spray painter and has to match paints all the time, just place all your white cardstocks together and you will be lucky to get any two exactly the same, amazing how much colour we do live and thrive with, this time I have used just white watercolour paper and some small white flowers.

I have embossed some leaves and then cut them out, embossed the very bottom of the card and again for another sentiment on the card.  I twirled the stems of the flowers and left them on as a small accent to the leaves.

The other day I bought a new pen from ZIG, called a Wink of Stella Brush, I bought the clear one, which gives a pretty glitter effect to cardstock, without the pieces (that is the only way I can describe it, I have taken a very closeup photo, hopefully you can see some glitter, which is around the edges of the card, the leave, the flowers and the words Peace on Earth.

Dilly Beans Challenge - Anything but a Card

I've started making some gift cards, here is one of them featuring an image from Dilly Beans called "Present Stack" ideal shape for a tag.

I enlarged the design slightly and printed just the outline on yellow card, this is the back for my tag.  Coloured the image with copic pens and added glitter.  There is a round bit at the bottom of the bow that was perfect to punch out and I have thread gold elastic through for hanging.

Fan-Tastic Tuesday #10 - Anything Goes/Make it Fancy

A "Cool Tennis Shoe" by  Digi Darlas was my choice to make it Fancy this week.

Digi Darlas sponsors of this weeeks challenge at Fan-Tastic Tuesday

I printed the shoe twice and layered them to get a pair.   Then, I coloured with Touch pens and used lots and lots of  kindy gltter, gold glitter and gems, what every tweeny wants, pretty shoes!  Sculptured the image a bit and layered them onto coloured paper and card.  Added a sentiment.

Then I thought what else could I do with this sand shoe?  I printed the image on designer paper and used copics to colour, then again with the glitter and red pearls. Punched some holes and gave the shoe some lacing, added a vintage Santa jumping out of the shoe and a sentiment, all mounted on striped paper that I have overlayed with glitter ribbon.

Rel or Faux Metal, I used a bit of both to show off this lovely image called "Pumpkin Bouquet" by Fred She Said, found HERE

This weeks sponsor is Fred She Said

The winner of this weeks challenge will receive a $10.00 voucher to the Fred She Said Store

I don't know how other crafters work, me! I've a bit of a mishmash system, I colour the image first then look at what I can mount it on, what do I add etc.  I tried a number of different backgrounds for this image and on the bench where I was working, a black book, which I placed the image on, what do you know it look great on black and orange, The card is orange, with the image mounted on black cardstock.  I have added a small metal bow and the metal strips are embossed foil  (the embossing is musical notes)
